Thanks to our partners and attendees like you, we’ve been able to raise over $300,000 in just three years. This support has made it possible to raise awareness and funds for families affected by pediatric brain cancer through Hogs for the Cause. All donations will stay in SOUTH CAROLINA to support THE EFFORTS OF HOGS FOR THE CAUSE and Ronald McDonald House CHARITIES OF CHARLESTON.

Pediatric Brain Cancer is the leading terminal cancer in children in the US. Hogs for the Cause is the premier nationwide funding source for outreach services to these families.

Spearheaded in 2021 by Aaron Siegel & Taylor Garrigan of Home Team BBQ, Anthony DiBernardo of Swig & Swine, Robert Moss, contributing BBQ editor of Southern Living, John F. Davis of Carolina One Commercial Real Estate and Joe Norton, Holy Smokes BBQ Festival brings the leaders of the national barbecue community together in Charleston for a festival paying homage to the culture and traditions of American barbecue while raising awareness and funds for families affected by pediatric brain cancer.

Since its inaugural year (2021), Holy Smokes has donated over $300,000 to its beneficiaries, Hogs for the Cause and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston. Hogs for the Cause is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports families battling pediatric brain cancer and offers grants directly to families to help alleviate some of the emotional and financial strain associated with treating pediatric brain cancer. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston (RMHC), which is located across the street from MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital, is a “home-away-from-home” where families can stay while their children undergo extensive medical treatment.

Your support will help us continue to make a difference for local families year after year, all while enjoying some of the best barbecue in the country!
